Josh Reading: NSW Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Josh Reading serves at LifeCity Church//Canberra, a church he and his wife planted 4½ years ago. LifeCity now meets in three locations, with a fourth launching. Josh has a passion to see a generation plant new relevant, community centred, spiritually dynamic, globally-focussed churches and to see people step up and lead sacrificially beyond doing the “safe”. Josh is married to Ange and they have four children, Joel, Isaiah, Aysha and Zoe. Josh loves the Church, family and the Melbourne Storm.
Marbuen Diaz: NSW Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Marbuen Diaz was born in Mindanao, in the Philippines and migrated to Australia when he was 10 years old. He grew up in the most multicultural pockets of Sydney and Melbourne, and that is why he is looking to plant a church on that missional issue. Currently, he is teaching/coaching a gap year course called Plunge at Morling College. Before that, he was a youth pastor at a Baptist church for 10 years and has had 14 years experience in youth ministry in different contexts. Marbuen has been married to Rika for five years and is fathering a beautiful boy named Micah. Marbuen loves sports and is currently eagerly awaiting the birth of his new son.
Andrew Hartman: NSW Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Andrew Hartman is the Youth Pastor at Menai Anglican Church. Andrew studied Commerce at UNSW and worked for four years in Financial Planning. During those four years, he got a taste for ministry with short-term mission trips to Bali and Myanmar. This confirmed a desire to pursue ministry further and he went to Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC) for three years before taking a position at Menai Anglican. Andrew is married to Tara and enjoys chillin’ out with friends and family, surfing, soccer, cookie dough ice cream and fantasy novels. He loves sharing the Gospel with kids and seeing God open up their eyes to Him.
Daniel Connor: NSW Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Daniel Connor is an Anglican minister who is very excited to be working alongside the people of St James Wyong. The road to full-time ministry began when Dan decided to follow Jesus at age 21, spent six years working as a Surveyor, and finally took the plunge to study Theology at Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC). He looks forward (with some trepidation) to what God is going to teach him through this Arrow experience. Please pray for him! Dan is married to Harriet and father to a very active toddler, Simon.
Jodene Watling: NSW Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Jodene Watling is the National Women’s Co-ordinator for Christian Surfer’s Australia, and has been in this pioneering role for five years. The objective is to create a culture where females are embraced and celebrated, plus reach surfer girls with the Gospel. Jodene lives in Cronulla and attends Thrive Community Church. Her heart gets pumping encouraging others into their calling and gifts in God. Favourite pastimes include road trips, fun surfs with friends and starting random dance parties.

Mark Smith: NSW Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Mark Smith had the privilege of growing up in a Christian family and has never known a day without Christ’s love. He’s been married to Anna since 1997, and they have the blessing of raising a son and four daughters. Together, they’ve ministered in various parts of Sydney, country NSW and Dublin (Ireland), and in various denominations (Presbyterian and Anglican). Currently, they serve at St John’s Kirribilli (Church by the Bridge). Mark’s interests in Rugby League has also given him the opportunity to act as Chaplain to the Sydney Roosters (NRL).
Martin Kemp: NSW Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Martin Kemp is an Assistant Minister at Darling Street Anglican Church on the Balmain peninsula in Sydney’s inner west. Previously he worked with university students, both at St Paul’s Castle Hill and on campus at the University of Sydney. Martin’s journey towards Christian leadership began while he was studying to be an archaeologist and, after a short season working in that field, he became fully convicted that the Spirit was leading him to pastor God’s people. Martin is married to Jasmine. Fishing is his new hobby, but it’s proving to be much harder than he first thought!
Nathan Dirs: NSW Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Nathan Dirs is married to Karen and they have three great kids, Oliver, Abigail and Josiah. God broke into Nathan and Karen’s life eight years ago, bringing radical transformation. After finishing Bible College in 2010, Nathan accepted a call to Narwee Baptist Church as an Associate Pastor. Nathan is passionate about introducing people to Jesus and seeing them live for His glory.
Nicholas Barber: NSW Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Nick Barber is Executive Pastor at GracePoint Christian Church in Randwick, NSW. Prior to moving into pastoral ministry, he worked as a physiotherapist. Nick’s heart is to invest into and equip others to be effective ministers of the Gospel, within their own spheres of influence. He longs to see believers grow deeper in love with Jesus and operating out of a place of love and acceptance rather than performance. Nick and his wife Kristy have two sons, Josiah and Caleb.
Stuart Glover: QLD Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Lieutenant Stuart Glover is the Corps Officer (Senior Pastor) at The Salvation Army Corps in Caloundra. Along with his wife Lieutenant Paula Glover, he is responsible for leading all aspects of congregational life as well as overseeing the social ministries of the Corps. Stuart is passionate about seeing the local Body of Christ being released for ministry. Stuart follows politics and is one of those weird people who enjoy studying. Stuart and Paula have a golden retriever named Fletch.
Adam Lowe: QLD Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Adam Lowe has been Assistant Minister at the Anglican Church of Noosa since late 2010. Prior to this role, Adam and his wife spent a year in the UK to complete an MA Theology and Religion at St John’s College, Durham University. Prior to studying in the UK, Adam worked as an Assistant Curate and Pastoral Assistant at St Mark’s Clayfield (Brisbane), whilst also consulting as a Psychologist internationally. Adam has a passion for small groups, preaching and teaching, and pastoral ministry. His wife Bettrys is a primary school teacher and they have been married since 2003. Adam loves technology (blogging occasionally!) and is a coffee nerd.
Simeon Hoffmann: QLD Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Simeon Hoffmann has been in ministry four about seven years within The Salvation Army, predominantly focussing on work with youth and young adults. Starting out in a short-term mission team, Simeon now works in Indigenous ministries in Ipswich. Having worked in many different cultures, Simeon is passionate about breaking down cultural barriers within the Church and working with the poor and marginalised. Simeon is married to the beautiful Lisa, and together they have four daughters (Anaya, Mercy, Shiloh and Esther), four chickens, tropical fish and a dog. As a hobby, Simeon loves sport, especially “real” football, Rugby League.
Joshua Maher: QLD Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Joshua Maher is an Aboriginal man, born in Biripi Country (Taree), and spent early years in Wellington, NSW, before moving to Logan in the south of Brisbane. Joshua is currently involved with Jisas Wantaim, which aims to enable, empower and equip indigneous Christians to serve in their God-given potential to a greater capacity. Joshua is undertaking a Pastoral Internship with Dhiiyaan Northside, an Indigenous Church in Brisbane. Joshua has much experience in Christian ministries such as YWAM, outreach to many indigenous communities, and has also undertaken the Transformational Leadership Course, School of Biblical Studies and Diploma in Church Planting at Pines College. Joshua has a son and his hobbies include travelling, sport, community events, movies, reading and music. His family have been significant in his development and he is excited to be working with Billy Williams and Goma Conlon, both graduates of Arrow 8.
Kenny Koay: VIC Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Kenny Koay and his wife Sin Kiew and their two children have been part of Clayton Church of Christ Fellowship since 1999. Since 2009, Kenny has been serving as the Missions Manager and he is responsible to raise mission awareness, develop and implement mission strategy. Prior to his full-time role in church, he was in telecommunications retail business for seven years. His passion is to see Clayton community a step closer to Jesus. Kenny enjoys spending time with his young family and reading books.
Kieran Carr: VIC Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Kieran Carr has been the Youth Pastor at St Alfred’s Anglican Churn in Blackburn North, since 2006. He also serves in preaching, praise and worship leading and service leading. He completed his Bachelor of Ministry at Ridley Theological College, Melbourne in 2008. He loves to read books, but never reads fiction. His parents have been missionaries in the Philippines and Tanzania. Kieran married Ruth in 2010. To relax, they go for walks, watch movies and hang out with friends.
Scott Wellard: VIC Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Scott Wellard is married to Rachel. He is the Youth Pastor of Life! Church Cranbourne, runs the youth programs at the Youth and Family Centre Life!Central, and is also a chaplain in a primary school. Scott is the regional director for Youth Alive Southeast and has worked with youth all around the world. He is also a former High-Risk Youth Worker. Scott has a Bachelor of Ministry from Harvest Bible College and has Probationary Minister Credentials (PMC) with Australian Christian Churches (ACC). Scott loves travelling and American Football.
Amanda Vaarzon-Morel: NT Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Lieutenant Amanda Vaarzon-Morel is a Salvation Army Officer serving in Alice Springs where she is privileged to walk alongside people from many backgrounds and circumstances. Her heart is to see whole communities transformed as the Kingdom of God comes both individually and corporately so that all people may live in the freedom and hope that Christ brings. Amanda also loves music, cycling, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.
Daniel Beasy: SA Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Dan Beasy currently serves as Pastor of Worship and Community Life at Rostrevor Baptist Church, Adelaide. He completed his Bachelor of Ministry at Tabor College Adelaide, majoring in Biblical Studies. Dan is passionate about seeing people move from places of brokenness to wholeness in Jesus Christ and strengthening churches to embrace ministries that enable people to meet a healing Jesus. In 1997, he founded the Lifewell Conference to empower individuals and equip churches to respond holistically in restoring lives to Jesus Christ. Lifewell Conference continues to help people live well as Jesus intends today. Dan married his wife Ellen under the Moreton Bay figs in Adelaide’s Botanic Park, and enjoys walking their dog Ty. He also enjoys AFL and supports Carlton.
Scott Berry: SA Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Scott Berry is Associate Pastor of Enfield Baptist Church, in the areas of Young Adults, Young Families and Pastoral Care. He also works part-time as an Occupational Therapist and is husband to Jasmine and father to Charlotte and Theo. Scott is a keen indie music fan and writes for Adelaide street press 'dB magazine'. He passionately hates pokies, injustice and coffee.
Simon Duke: SA Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Simon Duke is the Young Adults Pastor at Clovercrest Baptist Church, working with a gifted team to build a mature movement of people that love God and people with everything they’ve got. He has a heart to reach people with the Gospel and disciple people. His favourite books are “Master Plan of Evangelism” by Robert Coleman and “A Resilient Life” by Gordon MacDonald. He has also recently completed a Masters Degree in International and Community Development. Simon has a beautiful wife, Hehlee and two children and enjoys fishing, running and watching the footy to relax.
Will Hall: SA Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Will Hall is married to Nikki, cyclist, actor, life coach, pastor and State Leader of the Uniting Church SA youth and young adult movement. Will loves seeing people reach their potential, is passionate about preaching, loves all things leadership and desires to plant a church in the future. Will''s core desire is to ''bring hope and justice to a world that desperately needs it'' through a passion to join with God in His restoration of all things. This mandate finds Will completely given over to an unconditional love revolution.
Joanna Hubbard: SA Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Joanna Hubbard is the Associate Minister at Marion Church of Christ and Director of MarionLIFE Community Services Inc. She is constantly wrestling with what it means to stand in the gap between the church and those most marginalised by society, and what it means to live simply. Joanna is kept grounded by her husband James.
Kelly Rawlins: SA Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Kelly Rawlins is the Co-Director of the One50 Dance ministry in SA. With over a decade leading and being the visionary for this ministry, she now focuses on raising up the next generations to this movement that reaches over 600 students each week. The call on her life is to reach out to young people with the love of God, encouraging them to be all they were created to be, unlocking dreams and self-potential, releasing the greatness that is already within. Kelly attends Magill Church of Christ, a home to her family — husband Tim and daughter Tailey. She is also passionate about doing life with people over coffee!
Mike Wardrop: SA Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Mike Wardrop is the Associate Pastor of The Journey Uniting Church in Golden Grove, SA with a background in chaplaincy, sales and marketing. Mike loves to see people, particularly young people, come into a relationship with Jesus and to actively grow in this. He believes adamantly in the power of discipleship and mentoring to make this happen and longs to see Australia filled with lifelong, passionate Christians. Mike lives in Adelaide with his wife Jenny and his two children Grace and Charlie. He’s a sports nut and lover of good movies, TV and music.
Jeremy Wright: SA Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): After 15 years on the road, Jeremy Wright is excited to be working for God in his local community. He is Next Generations Pastor at Oakden Baptist Church, providing leadership for the children’s ministries and youth and young adults. Most of the time, these roles dovetail neatly with his role as Chaplain of neighbouring Cedar College. Jeremy loves sharing the mind-blowing story of Jesus’ love with young people and inspiring youth to make a difference in the world and their postcode. He loves his wife Clare and the fact that she lets him do this stuff. He also adores their daughter Lily and obsessive dog Frances.
Andrew Chin: NSW Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Based in Sydney, Andrew Chin has served as a pastor with Wesley International Congregation (Wesley Mission) since 2004, and currently oversees the Evangelism and Missions Department and an Extension Service in Macquarie Park. His ministry interests are local and overseas missions, discipleship/mentoring and equipping potential leaders. Andrew is married to Melissa and they have two young children, Nathaniel and Annaliese. His personal interests are reading, movies, board games and cycling.
Simon Peter Hyland: NSW Arrow 11
Original Arrow Bio (at enrolment): Simon Hyland is the Youth Minister & Music Director for the Catholic Parish of Pittwater, Mona Vale and Avalon. He has been in this role for the last 5½ years. For 10 years prior to becoming a youth minister, Simon had a professional career in theatre, film and television. His experience includes Miss Saigon, Hot Shoe Shuffle, Show Boat, The Boy from Oz and Hair the musical. He was in the film South Pacific and for 3 years was the host of Nick Junior on Foxtel Digital. Simon has a Bachelor of Arts in Music plus a Diploma in youth ministry and evangelisation. He is married to Emma and has three children: Samson, Poppy and Jude. He loves going out to dinner, going to the beach with the kids and playing golf.
