Nathan McElveney

Arrow 8 - Arrow Leader

Nathan is married to Amy, and they have three daughters – Lucy, Zoe & Lara. As well as being involved in various church ministries at Epping Church of Christ, he has been involved in camping ministry since 1998. Nathan has been working for Crusaders since 2004, where he currently serves as the Director of Ministries. In his spare time, he likes to read the newspaper, which he sometimes manages to do within a week of publication, or a good book.

Mark Dean

Mark is the Worship Pastor and Online Pastor alongside his wife Eden at Gateway Baptist Church in Brisbane where he has served on the staff team for 10 years. He has three sons, Harrison, Luca and Joey who are a bunch of fun and full of energy. To relax, he enjoys watching sport and connecting with friends and family over food.

Julie-anne Laird

State Leader, Victoria Arrow 25

Julie-anne (JA) has worked for the last 20 years as an evangelist for AFES and is now working for City to City Australia, helping Churches and Church plants with their Outreach System! Julie-anne is married to Andrew and has four adult children: Jasmine, Stephanie, Cameron and Bradman. They are quite involved in their local church (All Saints Anglican Church, Greensborough) and Julie-anne works as the Young Adults Pastor there as well. Julie-anne enjoys going bike-riding, watching netflix and catching up with friends.  In 2012, Julie-anne was appointed as Chair of the Australian Lausanne Committee.

Kimberly Smith

Kimberly Smith is a Pastor, Author and Speaker. She is also a lover of travel, eating out and all things people! In her role as Generations and Emerging Leaders Pastor for the Baptist churches of Victoria (BUV), she draws from over 14 years experience as a Generations Pastor in a local Baptist church, seeking to help churches engage generationally in mission and leadership development to see them thrive as true expressions of God's family. Kimberly is a passionate communicator, investing in people and ministries through preaching, blogging, mentoring and leadership development. She is the author of the book “What We Cannot Be Alone” - seeking to bring understanding to Singleness as it pertains to church family.

Anthony Palmieri

Arrow 10 - Arrow Leader

Anthony is married to Siobhan and they have three amazing children; Jenna, Makayla and Josiah. Anthony is the Senior Pastor at Lakeside Baptist Church. Lakeside operates and serves the community through a 4-court multi-purpose recreation centre. More than 7000 people a week use and benefit from the range of sporting programs. Anthony is passionate about seeing people say "yes" to Jesus and together with his team strive to reach the community with the life-changing message of Jesus through sport and relational evangelism.

Roxane Lawler

Roxane is married to Mark, and they have three children. Roxane works at Gymea Baptist Church in Sydney’s South as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator and her passion is to see people grow and thrive while using their gifts and talents in serving God. She believes disciple-making and evangelism with children, families and young people is one of the best strategic moves a church can make. She loves walking outdoors, laughing and creativity.

Brad Case

Brad Case is the Discipleship Pastor at Gateway Baptist Church and loves to help develop Christians and emerging church leaders to use their giftings to serve a world in need. Brad has been a school chaplain, youth and children’s pastor, long time SU Qld camps director and QLD State Director for Generations ministry and has even written a children’s book. He is married to Mercy and together they are always making travel plans. He enjoys all kinds of sport and also music, breaking out his saxophone whenever possible.

Peter Carolane

Arrow 5 - Arrow Leader
State Leader, Victoria

Peter has been in church ministry for over two decades. He was the founding director of Mustard Schools Ministry. He also led the youth and young adults ministry at St Hilary's Kew, planted a congregation at St Silas in North Balwyn, and planted Merri Creek Anglican. He has a PhD in Colonial Mission History, and has a passion for Aboriginal reconciliation. Peter is also a musician, songwriter and record producer, playing on albums in the Melbourne band scene. He’s married to Jo Knight, has two sons Leo and Ezra, and Harry the dog.

Kate Petersen

Kate is married to Michael and has one son and twin daughters. She is the Executive Assistant at Gateway Baptist Church in Brisbane and supports the Senior Pastor, Executive Pastor and Senior Leadership Team as they pursue a multi campus church model. Since her salvation in 2013, she has loved following the Lord's prompting to use her background in business and secular leadership in a Christian environment. She's a passionate foodie and loves cooking. Her time living in France deepened her love for fresh produce, and the way in which food brings people together.

Des Ong

Des is a Director at The Future Leader Group. He has spent 20 years of research & leadership experience working with a variety of industries and organisations. These include top 20 ASX companies, governance boards, entertainment & hospitality, retail, education, government and not for profit sectors.  He is an organisational and leadership strategist that focuses on coaching and team dynamics; developing emotionally & culturally intelligent leaders; managing change transitions and designing pathways for healthy organisational culture.  Des has roles of Chairman and Board Director across multiple organisations and has a graduate Masters, with a major thesis on the role of Emotional (EQ) and Cultural Intelligence (CQ) in developing effective leaders. Outside of work he enjoys cycling, watching a good movie and spending time with his beautiful family.

Simmon Warrick

Simon Warrick is the CEO of Empart Australia, an organisation that exists to empower and partner with communities through various social development programs. He has a history of corporate and ministry leadership roles and loves to see people and organisations fulfil their God given potential. Married with three young adult children he loves camping/caravanning, tinkering in the shed and spending time with family and friends, oh and don't forget coffee.

Martin Conway

Education Executive 4 - Arrow Leader
State Leader, New South Wales

Martin is presently serving as the Director of Students - Years 3 to 6, at Barker College. Martin and wife Joanne enjoy a busy family life with four children Matthew, Jessica, Toby and Sarah. He is excited about the privilege of working in partnership with colleagues to provide high quality education while seeking to communicate in word and deed the gospel of Jesus Christ to students, staff, parents and the wider community. With 20 years working in the independent education sector in Sydney, discovering the value of exploring the inner landscape and the purpose and heart of the teacher, has proved significant for both learning and reflection in recent years. Sharing the rich blessings of life with family and friends brings great joy as does the opportunity to read, surf, ride and run a long way on a bush trail somewhere in Australia.   

Kylie Clark

Kylie is the Principal of Sunrise Christian School, Fullarton, 5 minutes from Adelaide in South Australia, where she has worked for the past 16 years. She is married to Gavin, and has two adult children. Kylie currently leads the Primary team in developing strategies for change in their context. Her passion is seeing young lives being transformed and restored, through genuine bible-based pedagogical practice that actively engages their heart and mind to be in relationship with their creator. Her desire is to provide opportunities for people to realise their own value, and reach their full potential. In her spare time, Kylie enjoys spending time at the beach, being in the outdoors and holidaying with her family and friends.

Matthew Peters

Matt is married to Jasmine and is currently serving as the Youth Pastor at Seeds Uniting Church and Chaplain at a local high school. He loves seeing young people connected, gain a sense of belong and help them discover their identity in Christ. He is also passionate about St Kilda Football Club, the New York Knicks, cricket and pretty much any other sport.

Brian Holden

Brian has 20 years experience working in ministry across various roles, demographics, and leadership structures. In his current role with the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne he coaches and equips people for ministry as well as running a leadership formation program.
He is passionate about growing leaders, making disciples, and helping churches and individuals rediscover their enthusiasm for building the Kingdom of God.
Brian has 2 daughters with his wife, Bethany, and lives with his family in Nunawading, Victoria.

Liesel Houghton

Liesel joined the team at Arrow in 2013 and oversees the management of all programs and events. She has over 10 years experience in events and administration in both Church and Not For Profit. Liesel is currently also working with Christian Coaching Institute where she is training to be a coach and working with the team on creating good systems and processes. She has qualifications in patisserie and her interests include water sports, baking and all things Disney. Liesel is passionate about helping people develop skills and systems to make their worlds more productive and organised. Liesel is an Arrow Leader after completing the Arrow Emerging Leaders Program in North America in their 45th cohort in 2017/2018.
